Non-adoptable: gift

Part two of my New Years '07 gift. I had missed Christmas, but I was still in time for the Orthodox Christmas, so I created some pixel embroidered tablecloths, using patterns I remember seeing at my grandmother's house.

For a community project at EE. This is a two-piece contribution to a random puzzle - everyone is drawing whatever they please and no one knows what the cumulative effect will look like. I'm sure it will be interesting, in a pureed sort of way.

I originally intended this to be a sunset scene, complete with miscellaneous silhouettes, but when I accidentally flooded the background with a dark burgundy, I thought it looked much, much cooler.

My Halloween candy gift this year was probably motivated by my annoyance over the decreasing sizes of Halloween candy portions by candy makers. Remember when trick-or-treat sized chocolate bars were roughly half the size of a regular one? Am I dating myself terribly? Well, I'm not handing out individually-wrapped tiny gumballs at my house this year, oh no. You gets an entire gumball machine. Booyah! (Emphasis on "boo".)

Base: PoppedArtDolls

For an aquarium-themed challenge at FF. My highly logical brain decided to capture an orca and an arbutus tree and stuff them both into a globe filled with water. I blame my good friend, Capricious Whim.

Base: PoppedArtDolls

This was drawn from scratch for an "Inspired by the Picture" challenge that presented a picture of two twisting, colourful staircases. So I drew snakes. As one would.

Base: None

For an EE challenge wherein members had to draw a sword. I started with a fancy schmancy rapier in mind, but ended up with something stony and gothic looking. I have no idea how I manage to consistently stray so far from original ideas. Am I following mental breadcrumbs? Why do they taste like stale croutons?

For an Easter egg challenge, I simply had to draw a couple in the Ukrainian style. No painful wax burning, woo!

Base: Zenmistress (site closed)

The challenge: dress a turkey. I went going for a Reservoir Dogs-inspired deal. No one messes (nor dresses) this turkey!

Base: Whispered Kisses

Inspired by all the pumpkin carving goodness at Homestarrunner.com, I made my own Trogdor pumpkin for a FF carving contest. I drew the Burninator completely free hand and am really proud of the result. Of course, it doesn't hurt that this particular dragon looks like it was drawn by an 8 year old . . .
