Miscellaneous Misc. Dolls

Base: PoppedArtDolls

A base test for my first base ever (Oly). Why a karate outfit? Why not?

Base: Dolls In Blue

This guy was created for a contest I decided to enter 8 hours before the deadline. Yes. Well. It was a pageant-type contest and I feel asleep before I could get the other two done. Pity, cause I think this third of the project turned out rather well.

Base: SugarCream

This is me, age 5, in my ballerina powder puff costume. I can't remember if I liked ballet lessons back then, but the mere idea stupefies me now.

Base: Porcelain Dreams

Done for a forum challenge, this is my Prince Charming. Yes, he looks non-descript (his hair needs to be longer!), but the important thing here is the three piece suit, people. You can't say no to a guy in a three piece suit.

Base: Miniature Reality

This is what happens after 12 cups of tea. A cautionary tale for us all.

Base: La Leche Dollz

Odd, yes. But that's due to the contesty nature of the doll. The contest: doll a character created by a "magic girl" generator.
I entered the contest at the last minute, so the job was pretty rushed. I think I needed to sleep on this doll one more day to get her exactly right. (Not literally, of course. How uncomfortable would those rings be in bed?!)

Base: Lilacblizzard Dollz

Base of the month challenge #4 at FF. The pose seemed to beg for skates, even if I can't draw a skate blade to save my life (hopefully it won't come to that!)

Base: ABC Dollz

A Cinderella-type doll, whose dress started out based on a picture book from my youth, but then sprinted determinedly in a completely different direction.

Base: Dolls by Cleo

Modern formal wear. Prom season inspired.

Base: Pixelated Pixelations

Base of the month challenge #6 at FF. Partly based on a picture book illustration and partly based on playing cards, I'm really happy with this rendition of the Queen of Hearts.

Base: Nefertiti Dolls

My FF May member challenge was made late at night and in a hurry. I was trying a new method for folds and it totally didn't work. If the bottom-most part of the sash didn't look marginally good, this poor dearie might have had a short trip to pixel purgatory.

Base: Rebel Scum

Created for my first ever challenge at EE. This is supposedly my alter ego. She does things I never do, namely wears make-up and puts effort into her hair, wears sexy, fashionable clothes, and most importantly, she walks softly and carries a big stick.

Base: Devilishly Delicious Dolls

Base challenge #13. I was driving down Aiming-For-A-Mermaid Street when I became distracted by a shiny object and ended on Doll-An Approximate-Resemblance-to-a-RL-Friend Boulevard instead.

Base: Tropicallili

This doll marks a) one whole year of base challenges at FF and b) my first ever mermaid. Can't! Do! Scales! . . . so I overcompensated with a purdy background. I like the reflection in the water, even if it appears as if the mermaid is standing straight up. She must work out.

Base: Xandorra's Place

For a FF contest; the premise was to create a playing card. I stepped off the beaten path a bit by getting all Taroty and dolling myself as the Page of Cups.

Base: Heartsdesire's Fantasy

This was my first foray for The Realm. Dolled for a fight competition, I decided to create a human version of a killer bunny.

Base: Cherry Lime Soda

I can't stop using this base! This started out as Ryan from The O.C., but ended up not looking anything like him. I still like him, though more in a misc. sort of way.

Base: Dolls by Cleo

Made for a "Doll the Element" contest, this doll represents Cobalt Oxide, which is used to make blue glass. That's the look I was going for. Nice concept, not so nice execution.

Base: Wayuki's Place

I created this for a "Doll clothes from the latest J-Lo fashion show" challenge. And challenge it was. At first I was all snorky about the odd-looking styles, but in the end I decided that I really, really, reeeely want this jacket.

Base: Pinkland

Completely random creation. What's up with the crazy mullet head? I have no idea.

Base: Joyful Girl

If memory serves, this is Richard Dean Anderson in Stargate duds. I created him in answer to a request, but the requester never responded (grrr. . .) so now he's on the adoptable list!

Base: Blue Biscuit

The one on top was created for a candy doll contest at FF. I chose to represent Bazooka Joe bubblegum. Full of sugary sweet nostalgia, I went on to create two colour edits, so now you have Original Flavour, Green Apple Flavour, and Grape Flavour.

Base: Dollz by MBladez

Created for my failed Doll-A Flag contest, I made this doll almost a year ago when I first got the idea. Lesson learned: when shading a skirt with two different colours & contrasts, put them on two separate layers for better control of shading. Then your skirts won't look like they're being eclipsed. :D

Base: Dollz by MBladez

Second example for the contest. A sort of cheerleading uniform inspired by my city's flag.

Base: Kaligoddess

Base of the month challenge #3 at FF. I drew the dress six times over before settling on this one. I felt it looked boring, so I used some PS brushes to give it a bit of snazz.

Base: Pseudo Artistic Endeavours

Another oddoll. He was created for a masculine vision contest, and therefore had to display a number of pre-selected items. I bee-lined for a young and modern mad scientist look. He's trying to bring a sock monkey to life. As we all do, sometimes.

Non-Dolls

Base: PoppedArtDolls

This was drawn from scratch for an "Inspired by the Picture" challenge that presented a picture of two twisting, colourful staircases. So I drew snakes.
As one would.

Base: twylight.tk

For an Easter egg challenge, I simply had to draw a couple in the Ukrainian style. No painful wax burning, woo!

Base: Zenmistress

The challenge: dress a turkey. I went going for a Reservoir Dogs-inspired deal. No one messes (nor dresses) this turkey!

Base: None

For an EE challenge wherein members had to draw a sword. I started with a fancy schmancy rapier in mind, but ended up with something stony and gothic looking. I have no idea how I manage to consistently stray so far from original ideas. Am I following mental breadcrumbs? Why do they taste like stale croutons?

Base: Whispered Kisses

Inspired by all the pumpkin carving goodness at Homestarrunner.com, I made my own Trogdor pumpkin for a FF carving contest. I drew the Burninator completely free hand and am really proud of the result. Of course, it doesn't hurt that this particular dragon looks like it was drawn by an 8 year old . . .
