THE DEAL:
I've gone off my nut for the twentieth contest at PoppedArtDolls, and to celebrate, I'm holding a contest where you can choose any one of my former nineteen contests for your dolling inspiration. I will post a banner and short description for each contest below. Clicking on the banner will take you to a page with more information on each contest.

Is the thought of choosing from nineteen contests an overwhelming task? If you like, you can email or PM me, and I will use my random number generator to choose for you. I'll give you two numbers to choose from, just in case one of the assigned contests really horrifies you.

CONTEST #1: LES FEMMES CELEBRES
Choose any plate from Galerie Francaise de Femmes Celebres (illustrations of historical gowns) and doll it.

 

 

CONTEST #2: DOLL A FLAG
Create a doll based on any city, county, state, provincial or country flag.

 

 

CONTEST #3: TEEN GIRL SQUAD
Create a doll based on the Teen Girl Squad cartoon at homestarruner.com

 

 

CONTEST #4: JEMVERSE FASHION
Make an original or show outfit for any character from the 80s cartoon Jem.

 

 

CONTEST #5: BRITCOM
Create a doll based on any character from a British comedy series

 

 

CONTEST #6: DOLL A TEA
Pick a flavour of tea and doll it!

 

 

CONTEST #7: FIREFLY/SPACE WESTERN
Create a doll based on any character in Joss Whedon's Firefly series, or make a sci-fi cowboy of your own.

 

 

CONTEST #8: THE BREAKFAST CLUB REMIXED
Take any of the five characters from The Breakfast Club and change their gender, clique or era.

 

 

CONTEST #9: ME IN GRADE NINE
A doll representing what you looked like when you were in grade 9/thirteen or fourteen years old.

 

 

CONTEST #10: A MINI SERIES
Create 6-12 related dolls on bases between 50 - 100 pixels tall.

 

 

CONTEST #11: THREE COLUMNS
Three columns of descriptive words. You choose three separate words and create a doll from them.

 

 

CONTEST #12: BEYOND THE MASK
Create a doll based on one of 64 paper masks.

 

 

CONTEST #13: WARRING WIZARD
The task: make a weapon-wielding, spell casting wizard in an action pose.

 

 

CONTEST #14: INTO THE SCENE
I will supply a number of photographed backgrounds/locations. You are to make a doll that would fit into one of those locations.

 

 

CONTEST #15: RANDOM COLOURLOVERS
I will supply you with three random five-colour palettes from Colourlovers. You pick one palette and make a doll from it.

 

 

CONTEST #16: MOVIE CROSSOVER
Create a doll that is a hybrid of two characters from two different movies.

 

 

CONTEST #17: FACE THE BASE
Either a "base I've always wanted to use" contest, or an assigned base contest. Or both.

 

 

CONTEST #18: ASSIGNED FANTASY CHARACTER
I give you generated details about a fantasy character and you doll it.

 

 

CONTEST #19: FIVE BY FIVE
An expanded three columns contest: you get 35 details of which you use five to incorporate into a doll.

 

 

 

 

Judging:
A private jury will judge the contest. There will also be a "Lazzi's Choice" where I select my favourite dolls.

Best overall: 1st, 2nd & 3rd
Best hair
Best shoes
Best outfit
Most creative
Best use of colour
Best details
Most humorous
(The number of prize categories will depend on the number of entries received.)

Prizes:
1st place doll: plaque, link & a custom doll.
2nd place, 3rd place & all other category winners: plaque & a link
All entrants will receive a participation plaque.

 

GENERAL CONTEST RULES:

1. You may re-submit your entry (if you want to make changes or improvements) as many times as you want, just as long as you make your final submission before the deadline.

2. Max entries: two per person. You may NOT enter the same category twice.

3. Original artwork only! All entries must be your own creation (i.e.: do not steal the dolls of others and enter them). Any props used must be made by you.

4. No frankendolled bases will be permitted.

5. There is no official size limit on the doll, but please keep it reasonable (roughly 400X400 pixels)

6. Animation is NOT permitted.

7. Backgrounds will NOT be permitted. A simple shape or splash of colour is fine, but nothing detailed, please.

8. Please keep all entries at a PG-13 level . . . . blood is fine, gore is not. Sexy is good, but actual sex, not so much. (Please email me if you require clarification on this subject).

9. Please submit entry as a transparent .gif. If you are unable to do so, please make the background a bright colour that does not appear anywhere on your doll so I can cut it out for you.

10. Failure to comply with the rules will result in disqualification.

11. E-mail all entries to Please put ICOSATASTIC SUPEREXTRAVAGANZA (or PAD Contest Entry if the title freaks you out) in the subject line (otherwise it might get sent to the spam pile!)
