CONTEST #17: Face the Base
THE
DEAL:
This
contest, designed to get you acquainted with unfamiliar bases, has two categories:
CATEGORY
1: Base I've Always Wanted To Use
Time to delve into your base folders and retrieve a base you've had for a
looooong time, but for whatever reason, you've never got around to using.
Obviously, "a looooooong time" will mean different time periods
for different dollers, so let me just say this: the base should not qualify
as a recent discovery. I'm not going to be picky about actual times; obviously,
there's no way I can see into your base collection, so just select the base
you've always wanted to use!
SPECIFIC
RULES:
-
You may edit the base, but only if you have permission from the base maker
to do so. Please respect the basemaker's specific wishes regarding editing!
- You may use bases from sites that have closed or gone on permanent hiatus,
unless the site owner has specifically asked that the bases no longer be used.
If the site no longer exists, please let me know what the name of the site
was anyway, so the maker can at least get a text credit
- The base must be at least 100 pixels tall, undressed (give or take 10 pixels
- I'm not going to be sticky, I just don't want to see tiny bases for this
contest!)
- No animal/creature bases, please. Half-animals (like centaurs or mermaids)
are acceptable
CATEGORY
2: Assigned Base
So here we are: you email
me and ask for a base assignment, and I'll give you one. (Please
make sure to put Face the Base Request in your subject line
so I don't accidentally delete your email as spam!) You are allowed to state
ONE thing you don't want the base to be (e.g.: tool shaded, side-facing, overly
large), so choose your preference carefully! I will give you a choice of two
bases, of which you will select one.
Things
the base could be:
- all sorts of skin tones
- either gender
- fantasy creature
Things
the base WILL NOT be:
- from sites that are closed or on permanent hiatus
- under approx. 120 pixels tall
- over approx. 325 pixels tall
- linearts or unshaded bases
- faceless (although you're welcome to redraw the face if you have permission)
- couples, animals or props
SPECIFIC
RULES:
-
You may edit the base, but only if you have permission from the base maker
to do so. Please respect the basemaker's specific wishes regarding editing!
- Please make sure you read and respect each basemaker's
rules/terms of service
- If you get a base set, just choose one pose
- If you're assigned a base you've used in the past, please re-email me and
I'll give you a new assignment. The idea is to use a base you've never used
before.
